Weight Management

The human body requires a proper balance of carbohydrates, protein and fat. The misconception is that all fat is bad for you and all carbohydrates make you put on weight. This could not be further from the truth.

Good fats are essential for proper weight control and metabolism of nutrients. When the appropriate fats are consumed (omega 3’s and omega 6’s) the body runs much smoother and the metabolism moves much quicker aiding weight loss and supporting all major body systems.

Carbohydrates are our body’s primary energy source. This may explain why people on low-carb or no-carb diets often feel fatigued and crave sugars and starches leading to an inevitable gain of any lost weight.

If the “good carbs” are consumed (specifically, complex carbohydrates found in fruit, vegetables and whole grains) they work together with proteins and fats to keep the body in balance and sustain our energy for much longer. This again helps with a more effective metabolism.

For any “diet” to be successful it must contain ALL macronutrients and be part of a lifestyle that includes regular exercise and stress management. It should also be specific to your own body chemistry and goals. Let me help you fine tune a weight loss program that is built with your body chemistry and health concerns in mind!
