Nutrition is the Key to Optimum Athletic Performance
As we have mentioned before, no two people have the same body chemistry. In order for each of us to reach and maintain our optimum performance level we need to follow a unique diet and exercise guidelines that apply specifically to our own body and health. Carbohydrate intolerance can negatively affect the body’s fat burning functions while consuming good dietary fats can help a person burn more body fat. These are just a couple of the factors that need to be considered when developing an exercise and diet plan for different individuals. People with blood-fat and/or blood-sugar irregularities will have a different set of challenges to face than those people who do not.
The importance of water intake, stress management, wearing the correct footwear and realizing when to rest after an injury are other major components of a healthy fitness regime. Combining these factors with proper nutrition habits will aid in reaching and maintaining your optimum performance levels.
A holistic approach to exercise will ensure a focus on balance. Only when our bodies are in balance will we be able to achieve optimum health and maintain top performance levels through sustained energy.
